Owen Gallagher had a revelation watching Oliver Heldens in Ibiza on Monday, August 20 2018. Never a big dance music fan but just went along as part of a mate's birthday. The London-based Dubliner was instantly hooked on melodic and progressive house having been a life-long indie and metal fan and musician.

Inspired by his music teacher, renowned  Irish jazz guitar virtuoso Tommy Halferty, Owen picked up the guitar at age 12 and  made his first serious foray into live performance with a sold out show at the National Concert Hall's John Field Room in Dublin with an 8 piece band.

Another inspiration for Owen was his neighbour Mundy who happened to be living in the basement apartment of the same building prior to the release of Mundy's multiplatinum-selling 24 Star Hotel. Owen later  flew Mundy to London for a guest appearance at a show at The Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room. Owen would also go on to headline two of  his own shows at the Royal Opera House Clore Room.

With his band (El Libero) he has received airplay on national radio in Ireland (Radio 2) and the UK (BBC Radio) and acclaim from bloggers, DJs and  journalists. He  formed the House duo 'yh dope' with collaborator Josh Lokot  during lockdown and has largely swapped the guitar  and amp for synths and the home studio. Having released  his first single under his own name featuring L.A.-based singer Tom Crouch, he launches into the world of melodic house with a vocal chop remix of yh dope's first single, 'Home'.
